The inventory tree
The tree is more than a list; it is the address of everything in kommuns:
- Work orders and issue reports are opened on an inventory; at a higher level (e.g. a location) all the work below it is shown together.
- Permissions pass down the tree: a permission given on a location also applies on its systems and equipment if the definition allows it. See Dynamic Permissions.
- Recurring work orders (planned maintenance) are attached to a piece of equipment or a system.
Classification and detail
- Categories: the kommuns library based on the MasterFormat classification used in construction and facilities, or your own category tree — codes like HVAC-CH Chillers, arranged with drag and drop.
- Brand & Model: link equipment to a brand and model; see all units of a model together.
- Measurements: capacity, power, pressure, flow, voltage and more, each with its unit.
- Tags: colored tags such as Critical equipment, Under warranty, Code-required inspection; hidden tags that only certain people see.
- Files: a file area with folders on every node; drag-and-drop upload, and files attached to work orders from the inventory.
