Brands and models

A brand and model on your equipment and sub-equipment makes spare parts, warranty claims and service calls easier. Brands and models belong to your organization: define them once and use them on all your equipment.

Who can do this?

• Permission needed: Organization › Brand & Model
• Usually: People with the Organization Admin permission

Your permission is computed from the assignments made to you and your teams. How?

Adding brands and models

1. Open Organization › Brand & Model.
2. Add the brand (e.g. Trane, Caterpillar, Otis, Haas) with Add Brand, with a description if you like.
3. Select the brand in the list; its models are listed on the right. Add the models there (e.g. Trane › CenTraVac CVHF 800).

In the equipment form, choosing a brand under Equipment Details › Brand fills the model list with that brand's models.

tip

Write the model name as the manufacturer's catalog does, and add the manual and the data sheet to the equipment's Files tab.
